The 16th annual OppiKoppi Festival is only one sexy, crooked month away. That’s right folks, faux pas and oupas, it actually has nothing to do with teeth. So you with the straight teeth, you’re more than welcome. Pearly whites, you too. Braces? We’ll welcome you with a drink in hand. Soon all will go crooked anyway, with the bushveld, the music and the beautiful madness conspiring to make you just like Jack Parow requires you: “Sexy korrek.”

Valiant Swart Tribute Show:
The legendary “Mystic Boer”, Valiant Swart, was one of the first artists to perform at OppiKoppi many rock and roll miles ago. OppiKoppi and Huisgenoot Tempo are celebrating Valiant`s 20 years in the industry. Various artists will perform 20 Valiant songs late on Sunday afternoon. Collaborating artists include Jack Parow, Piet Botha, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Hot Water, Les Javan, Tamara Dey,Tidal Waves, Albert Frost & Vusi Mahlasela.

We don’t really need to tell you that R450 is a good deal. If you have been to Oppikoppi before, you know it. If you haven’t been, just ask around. The truth is a funny thing. You can put it under a No Hot Ash/ Geen Warm As dustbin and it will still sprout prickly pears and braai grids when you least expect it. You can make the truth wear a T-shirt, but you can’t stop the truth from taking off that T-shirt and walking the dust roads in underpants alone while mumbling about being “Jeremy de Tolly” or having “a six-gun by my side” or something about “kraaibraai”.
